Ajay Devgn’s Raid becomes the fourth film to enter the Rs 100 crore club in 2018


The first quarter of 2018 has been commercially successful for Bollywood. Several films have not only received glowing reviews, but also have set the cash register ringing at the box office. As of today, Ajay Devgn‘s Raid entered the Rs 100 crore club. Wiht its Friday earning at Rs 43 lakhs, the movie’s current box office collection stands at Rs 100.14 crore. Yet another film from the first quarter has managed to enter the prestigious club. Each of them films have proved to grand successes in the first three months of 2018. Padmaavat was the first film to storm the box office. Sanjay Leela Bhasanli’s grandeur vision, powerful performances by the lead cast led the film to break records one after the other post release. Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety starring Karthik Aryan was the surprise hit of the lot. Luv Ranjan’s knack for making relateable love stories struck a chord with the audience and at the box office. As for Baaghi 2, Tiger Shroff’s astounding stunts and the incredible action sequences were some of the highlights. The movie managed to cross the Rs 100 crore mark in 3-4 days.

While Raid is the fourth Rs 100 crore film in the first three months of 2018, it is Ajay Devgn’s eighth 100 crore film after Bol Bachchan,Golmaal Again, Son Of Sardar, Singham, Golmaal 3, Shivaay, Singham Retruns (not in that order). Raid was based on the income tax raids conducted by the Income Revenue Services in the 80s and 90s. The film was set in Uttar Pradesh and it starred Ileana D’cruz.
