“I had to fight for my career and the money that I get paid.” – Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut has been keeping busy with her next – Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. The film will star Kangana playing the lead and while there were rumours of the film being shelved – the star says there’s no truth to that. Manikarnika, despite being a woman-centric film, it’s said to be made on a high budget. In the biopic, Kangana will be seen playing the role of fierce warrior queen Rani Laxmibai.

With endless rumours and controversies surrounding her, Kangana sure has come out as a true blue film star not letting her work getting affected with any of it. On being fearless and strong, Kangana had this to say to a daily, “To be honest, I do not go out thinking that I have to change society or make it douchebag-free. I am a good person, but not a great one. I am fighting for my rights. If I look like I am fighting for the rest of humanity, it is because fighting for your cause can lead to a collective cause.”

She further added, “I had to fight for my career and the money that I get paid. I have my houses and properties because I fought for them; not because of others. Big production houses exploit actresses; they don’t get the kind of money you think they do.”

Being an outsider, Kangana sure has made her way to the top with sheer hard work and determination. On that, she said, “People think that I am fighting a battle every day. My life must be miserable. I must be having no future because I’m not friends with the Johars or the Roshans. It’s far from that. I am doing one of the biggest epics of 2018. No other film with a female lead has been made with a higher budget.”

Whatever said and done, Kangana will always remain Bollywood’s favourite firebrand and we sure can’t wait to see her in Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi. More power to you, girl!
