Ayushmann Khurrana on defying heroism in Bollywood

Ayushmann Khurrana has redefined heroism in Bollywood. From his debut film Vicky Donor to Dum Laga Ke Haisha to his last release, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, the actor has always chosen unconventional subjects and emerges as a winner at the box-office. With his honest portrayal of the young face of middle class on big screen, he has created a place for himself in every household. Now he is being addressed the new face of middle class society of Hindi movies. And the actor-singer is not only happy but proud also with his achievement.

In an exclusive chat with Filmfare, Ayushmann Khurrana said, “I’m very happy with that image because seventy percent of our nation lives in small cities. Middle classsabsezyada smiling class hoti hai hamaredeshmein and if you represent the most popular class of our nation then of course you have connected certain cod with people. I’m really proud of that.”

The actor further added, “But at the same time, I would love to do different stuff like I’m doing Sriram Raghavan’s film. That’s a very different film.”

Other than this, the actor is currently busy shooting for Junglee Pictures’ Badhaai Ho with Sanya Malhotra, directed by Amit Sharma. As per reports, Badhaai Ho is a coming-of-age story of a family which gets some unexpected news and how every member of the family deals with it. “I’m very excited about Badhaai Ho because I own this genre and this is a step forward,” smiles Ayushmann. It’s for the first time that Ayushmann and Sanya will be seen sharing the screen space together.
