Bollywood stars raise their voice against the Kathua rape case

The nation is shaken by the news of an 8-year-old being gang-raped in a temple by a group of men. Little girl named Asifa was molested by a bunch of ruthless men in Rasana village near Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir state. Victim Asifa disappeared for a week before her body was discovered a kilometre away from the village by a few villagers. While the accused have already been arrested and will be presented in front of the law, a strong voice for the safety of young daughters is being raised all over the nation. As India lost a daughter, various Bollywood stars are coming out against the incidence and expressing their grief and anger on their official social media handles.

Amongst various stars, actresses Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhaskar, Radhika Apte, Esha Gupta and others were seen sharing their pictures holding a placard that read, “I am Hindustan. I am Ashamed. #Justiceforourchild 8-year-old gang-raped. Murdered. In ‘Devi’- sthaan Temple. #Kathua.”

On the other hand, actress Sunny Leone posted a picture with her daughter saying, “ “I promise with every ounce of my heart, soul and body to protect you from everything and everyone who is evil in this world. Even if that means giving my life for your safety. Every child in the world should feel safe against the evil hurtful people. Let’s hold our children a little closer to us! Protect at all costs!!!!”
