Bollywood suffered yet another heartbreak today morning. Everyone’s beloved Shammi aunty passed away at the age of 89. The veteran actress was suffering from an illness since a very long time and passed away today in the morning. Last week, on February 24, Bollywood lost it’s first female superstar, Sridevi, who died due to accidental drowning in a Dubai Hotel. While people from the industry were still trying to come to terms with it, they received another tragic news. Boman Irani, Farah Khan and many other personalities from B-town and TV industry came in to pay their last respects to the veteran actress. The actress was known as Nargis Rabadi by birth, but had later changed her name to Shammi. The late actress started working when she was 18-years old and her first film was Ustad Pedro. The actress lost her father when she was only 3. She had worked with several actors in her career spanning 64 years and had acted in over 200 films in Bollywood. Shammi aunty mostly featured in comic roles. The late actress had starred in films like Coolie No. 1, Mardon Wali Baat and Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. She had also appeared in many popular television serials such as Dekh Bhai Dekh, Zabaan Sambhal Ke, Shriman Shrimati, Kabhi Yeh Kabhi Woh.
Rest in peace, Shammi aunty. We hope you are in a better place now.
