Karan Johar‘s announcement about the leading lady in Simmba pasted a big smile on our face. Ranveer Singh and Sara Ali Khan together in Simmba sounds so much fun. It’s always a pleasure to watch actors form new pairs in movies and thus, Simmba will be interesting. But there is a story behind how Sara bagged the role in this Rohit Shetty film. It was KriArj Entertainment’s Prernaa Arora, producers of Kedarnath, who encouraged her to take up projects she deemed fit. (Also read: It’s ON! Ranveer Singh -Sara Ali Khan’s Simmba will clash with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 on December 28)
A source informed us, “Even after the fallout between KriArj and Abhishek Kapoor happened, Sara was in touch with Prernaa. Prernaa knew that Sara is doing Karan’s film. It was not that the producer was not aware of what Sara is doing next. She didn’t want Sara to waste her time. She is very young. Prernaa wanted her to take up any other film that Sara wanted to. Karan is very fond of Sara and the latter has always wanted to work with Ranveer. So it all worked out eventually.” We had told you earlier that Abhishek Kapoor, Kedarnath’s director, had forbidden Sara to not accept any project till his film reaches the theatre. She was even approached by Anushka Sharma for one of her productions, but the young debutante couldn’t take it up. But it seems Prernaa gave her a free hand about doing any film she likes and not wait for Kedarnath’s release. That’s how Sara bagged Simmba which is a remake of Telugu hit Temper.
Now, it’s a known fact that Sara was in consideration to be part of Student Of The Year 2 as well but that wasn’t possible. News is that the actress didn’t want to debut in a two-heroine project as Tiger Shroff will have two actresses for company in SOTY 2.
