October box office collection day 2 early estimates: Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu’s film sees a tremendous upward trend

Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu‘s October started off slowly at the box office, raking in just Rs 5.04 crore on day one. However, looks like the film saw a massive upward trend on day 2, with the footfalls continously increasing throughout the day. In fact, according to early trade estimates, October has managed to rake in somewhere between Rs 7 – 9 crore on day two (Saturday, April 14), which is fantastic to say the least. All this has been possible courtesy the great reviews that the film got from the critics as well as the audience. This tremendous word of mouth publicity has intrigued people to go and watch the movie and that enabled it to rake in the moolah.

Directed by Shoojit Sircar, October follows the story of a lost soul, Dan (Varun Dhawan) who works in a five star hotel. How he goes out of his way to help his colleague, Shiuli (Banita Sandhu) recover her memory after a freak accident forms the major part of the story. This story about unconditional love has pulled the heart strings of many. The performances by Varun and Banita have been praised too. But what did you guys think about the movie? In the meantime, looking at the current trends, we feel October will see an upward trend once again on day 3 (Sunday, April 15) and end the first weekend with a collection of Rs 18 – 22 crore at the domestic box office. Considering that the film had a decent buzz, niche subject and limited screen space, this is really a decent number. In fact, with a tight budget, we are sure that the movie will make a considerable in its lifetime run.
