October box office collection day 2: Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu’s film sees a fantastic jump; collects Rs 12.51 crore

Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu‘s October had a slow start on day 1, raking in just Rs 5.04 crore. However, with a tremendous word of mouth publicity, the film saw a tremendous growth on day 2 in terms of footfalls as well as collection. The movie saw a fantastic growth of nearly 50 per cent, as it collected Rs 7.47 crore at the ticket window. And with that, the overall box office tally now stands at Rs 12.51 crore at the end of day two. Talking about the current trends and collections, trade analyst Taran Adarsh revealed on Twitter, “#October shows a SUPER 48.21% GROWTH on Sat. Metros/plexes are clearly contributing heavily to the revenue. Should continue the upward trend on Sun. Fri Rs 5.04 crore, Sat Rs 7.47 crore. Total: Rs 12.51 crore. India biz.”

Considering that the film had a niche subject, limited screen space and a decent buzz, October has performed well. And this has been possible because of the word of mouth publicity that it received. For those of you who don’t know, the Shoojit Sircar directorial follows the story of Dan (Varun) as he goes out of his way to help his colleague, Shiuli (Banita) to recover her memory after a horrific crash. This story of unconditional love pulled the heart strings of the critics as well as the audience. With everyone raving about the movie, its story, the performance and its execution, the audience were intrigued to see it and hence, went into the theatres and helped the film see a massive jump in collections.
