Here is all that you need to know about the gala ceremony..

It will be hosted by Jimmy Kimmel. Last year, it was La La Land that was mistakenly announced as the Best Picture. Minutes later, the committee members came up and stated that it was Moonlight, which was the real winner. Kimmel is hosting it for the second year in a row. As per a report in E!News, his wife Molly McNearney and cousin, Sal are assisting him in writing down the jokes for the big night.

The winners are announced by voting from The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. These members are all part of movies that have released in cinema halls. They belong to different departments like writing, acting or technical side.

The fantasy drama film, The Shape of Water is leading the Oscar race with 13 nominations. It is directed by Guillermo Del Toro and is a love story between a mute woman and a humanoid-amphibian creature.
